The Public Works Authority “Ashghal” has announced the complete closure of one direction of Al Markhiya Street beginning Friday morning, 29 May 2015 until midnight Saturday 30 May 2015. The closure extends for about 400 meters in the direction from Lejbilat Interchange to Onaiza Interchange and aims to facilitate maintenance work, including repaving and asphalt works on the street.
During the closure period, drivers wishing to reach Oneiza Interchange via the Lejbilat Interchange can make a right turn onto Al Taqadom Street (after Lejbilat Interchange) and then turn left onto Al Muhandiseen Street which leads to the Independence Street and onto the Civil Defense Roundabout after which they can make a U-turn and come back to Oneiza Roundabout. (As shown in the attached map). Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the closure. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
