Ashghal: Temporary closure of one lane in each direction on Temporary Truck Route (Route 55)

The Public Works Authority "Ashghal" announced the temporary one lane closure on a section of road approximately 1 km in length on Route 55, also known as the Temporary Truck Route (TTR), as of Thursday 4 June 2015. 

The closures will be carried out in two phases:

Phase 1 will take place on Thursday 4 June until Saturday 13 June and involves the closure of the outer northbound lane and the inner south boundlane, traffic will be diverted on to the remaining open lane (as shown in the map)

Phase 2 will take place on Saturday the 13 June until Thursday 25 June involves the closure of the inner northbound lane and the inner south boundlane, traffic will be diverted on to the remaining open lane (as shown in the map)

The closure of the lanes is needed to allow for the construction of the T-Junction that will connect Route 55 to the road leading to the New Doha Port as part of the works on the Orbital Highway and Truck Route Project. Ashghal will install road signs to advise motorists of the diversion. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
