The Public Works Authority “Ashghal” announced that a traffic diversion will be in place on a section of Mesaieed road between Al Wakra and Mesaieed areas. The diversion will start on Friday 15 January 2016 and will last one and a half years. The diversion is required to allow for the construction of a new interchange as part of the Construction of Al Wakra Bypass Road project.
During this period, two lanes in the direction from Mesaieed to Doha will be closed on part of the existing road. The 800-meter closure will start after the local access to the family beach in Al Wakra Municipality. Traffic will be diverted to a diversion constructed with the same number of lanes, as shown on the attached map. The speed limit will also be lowered from 80 kph to 50 kph throughout the diversion, to ensure the safety of motorists and project workers. Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the diversion. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their users safety.
