ASTAD was the Silver Sponsor of this year’s annual Made in Qatar Expo. The four-day expo was held from the 6th to the 9th of November at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Saudi Arabia. Ali Al-Khalifa, Chief Commercial Officer Abdulaziz Al-Mulla, Chief Human Capital & Shared Services Officer Nasser Al-Hajri, General Manager Fahad Al Jahrami and Procurement Director Fahad Al Hajeri. At their booth, ASTAD showcased their portfolio of projects in Qatar and ASTAD team members discussed the objectives behind their participation in the expo and had this to say: “We have grown as a company and we are strategically expanding our operations outside of Qatar. The incentive behind this growth comes from the accumulated experience we have in Qatar. This expo will mark our entry into the Saudi market as we look forward to operate across the region” said ASTAD Chief Executive Officer Ali Al-Khalifa.
ASTAD Chief Commercial Officer Abdulaziz Al-Mulla said: “We are pleased to be participating in the first Made in Qatar Expo outside of Qatar, and we are proud to be here representing Qatar’s growing construction industry and showcasing our renowned landmarks. Much like Qatar, Saudi Arabia faces similar challenges in this industry and we look forward to bringing our solutions here.” Discussing the company’s growing team, ASTAD Chief Human Capital and Shared Services Officer Nasser Al-Hajri specified: “We are honoured to be here supporting this expo as Silver Sponsor. We have over 700 employees working at ASTAD, and as we grow internationally we look forward to building upon our workforce exponentially. Saudi Arabia aims to create as many as 6 million jobs by 2030 and we hope to contribute to this vision.”
ASTAD General Manager Fahad Al Jahrami stated: “ASTAD manages the development of the large scale infrastructure and development projects that are required to fulfil the Qatar National Vision 2030. We are here to showcase what our capabilities can accomplish and what we plan to bring to the Saudi market as we progress moving forward.” Commending the expo for bringing together business leaders and Qatari SMEs to develop and foster partnerships ASTAD Procurement Director Fahad Al Hajeri said: “We currently support over 200 existing local SMEs and are taking opportunities like these to increase our chain of local partners, supporting the development of a growing private sector.”
The Made in Qatar expo aims to promote Qatar’s industry sector and encourage the use of Qatari products, while updating the Saudi business community on the latest developments in participating sectors. Aside from opening up new markets for Qatari companies abroad and promote the country’s SME sector, the exhibition is an opportunity for many local firms and institutions to exchange experiences and secure business deals, as well as strengthen Qatar-Saudi economic partnership.
