The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, will implement a closure of two exit loops on Al Mazrooah Interchange and a section of the service roads which join Al Shamal Road northbound and southbound to the Temporary Truck Route.

The detour, which comes in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, will be in effect on Friday, 13 January 2017, and last for a period of one year. The traffic diversion will enable the construction of a critical interchange on the New Orbital Highway and Truck Route project. During the diversion, road users travelling south on Shamal Road from Al Ruwais that plan to travel to Lusail via the Temporary Truck Route will need to take an earlier right exit towards Salwa Road, before making a U-turn at the first roundabout and heading east towards Lusail, as shown on the attached map.

Road users travelling north on Shamal Road from Doha that plan to travel to Salwa Road via the Temporary Truck Route will need to take an earlier right exit towards Lusail, before making a U-turn at the first roundabout and heading west towards Salwa Road. For the safety of road users, Ashghal has reduced the speed limit to 80 kph on the northern and southern sides of Al Mazrooah Interchange for a distance of 500 metres. Ashghal will install road signs providing motorists with advance notice of the new road layout. The Public Works Authority requests all road users to abide by the new speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
