With the construction of eight stadiums for the Qatar world cup well underway, millions of dollars of investment will be spent on designing and constructing commercial, retail, residential, hospitality and transportation to cater for the influx of tourists into Qatar.
Future Interiors Qatar is a specialized conference combining innovation, functionality and sustainability in interior design strategies to achieve FIFA 2022 and Qatar National Vision 2030 goals. The conference will be held on 25-26 September 2017 in Doha and will provide platform for Qatar’s interior architecture and design industry to gather together to exchange knowledge, share best practice and network.
Seize the opportunity
One of the most ambitious and advanced construction projects ever to be undertaken “Lusail City” is under development. The city is expected to cost US$ 45 billion. Also, underway in Qatar is the Msheireb project which is the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project. The project is in stage four that consists of a public plaza and twelve mixed use buildings. Still to be completed is the ambitious Doha Metro project. Phase one of the Doha Metro project is expected to be complete in 2019 and will consist of the construction of all three lines. The second phase of the project is expected to be completed in 2026 and will involve the construction of 72 stations, the largest of which will be Msheireb Metro Station.
