The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has allocated a total of QR21.8 billion for carrying out 17 projects in 2018, Ashghal President, Dr Saad bin Ahmed al-Mohannadi, has said.
In a statement made on the occasion of the visit of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani to the Authority on Wednesday, Dr Al-Mohannadi said the Authority's achievements in 2017 have been multiple more than that the earlier four years. "More than 60 percent of the achievements have been in the period after last June. Ashghal will complete 90 percent of all projects related to the World Cup 2022 in 2018," he noted.
The authority will complete 113 new kilometers of highways in 2018, including 20 new main intersections. Walking and bike lanes will reach more than 210-kms in 2018. There will be a new highway that will help reduce traffic on February 22 Road.
