Ashghal: Closure of one lane in each direction on part of Al Shamal Road

The Public Works Authority announces that one lane in each direction will be closed on part of Al Shamal Road. The closure will be carried out on a distance of approximately 800 metres near Al Kheesa Bridge at Al Kheesa Interchange (Interchange 10) within Al Kharaitiyat Area. As of 17 August 2015 and for a period of one month, traffic will be diverted to the three remaining lanes on each of the south bound and north bound directions of the road.

The Public Works Authority is implementing this temporary diversion in order to complete construction works of a flyover that is part of the Road Enhancement Works on North Road project. Those works require the width of the lane that will be closed to carry out works safely. Ashghal urges all road users to abide by speed limits and traffic signs to ensure their safety. Ashghal will install all necessary signage in the area to notify drivers during work period.
