The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, announces a partial shift of traffic on Al Waab Street between Al Suwaidi Intersection and Mehairja Intersection. The road layout change will be implemented in two (2) phases starting on Sunday 23 December 2018 to enable the installation of new utilities. The proposed change has been designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic and will remain in place for six (6) months.
During the first phase traffic coming from Muaither heading towards Al Sadd will be shifted from the main carriageway onto a parallel road with three (3) lanes in each direction for a distance of 1 kilometer between Mehairja Intersection and Al Waab Intersection. The second phase will start on 31 December. During this time traffic coming from Al Sadd heading towards Muaither will be shifted from the main carriageway onto a parallel road with three (3) lanes in each direction for a distance of 1 kilometer between Al Suwaidi Intersection and Al Waab Intersection.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift and request all road users to abide by the speed limit which will be reduced to 50 kph along the route, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
