Ashghal traffic shifts announcement

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces a permanent relocation of the free right turn at Tilted Interchange from Al Luqta Street towards Huwar Street, starting Friday 9 August, to enable the connection works for the new Tilted Interchange, which is a part of  Khalifa Avenue Project.

During this traffic change which is in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, road users on Al Luqta Street heading towards Huwar Street, Qatar Foundation Gate 5 or Qatar National Library will be able to use the new slip road on Al Luqta Street instead of the free right turn at Tilted interchange, as shown on the attached map (pictured).

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that the existing Lekhwiya Roundabout on Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor will be shifted approximately 700m north to facilitate the construction of the key project. The traffic change commences Sunday 11 August 2019 and will remain in place for a period of 4 months. During the  change, designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic,  traffic movement to and from Luaib Area via Rashida Street will be shifted to the new roundabout.

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces a temporary traffic shift along 150 meters of the C-Ring Road, between Al Mirqab Al Jadeed Street and Ashja bin Amr Street in the lanes leading to Salwa Road, starting Friday 9 August 2019 for a period of three weeks. The traffic change, designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, aims to upgrade the intersection of C-Ring Road with Al Mirqab Al Jadeed Street to a signal-controlled intersection. During this period, traffic on the closed part will be shifted in to the opposite side of the road which will include two lanes for traffic heading to Al Sadd and another two lanes heading to Salwa Road. Access from C-Ring Road to Al Mirqab Al Jadeed Street will be closed as well as the exit to C-Ring from Ashja bin Amr Street except for the access to the service road that will remain open, as shown in the map above.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
