Temporary closure on intersection of Wadi Al Salamiya Street with Al Kharaitiyat Street

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it will implement a temporary closure on the signal-controlled intersection of Wadi Al Salamiya Street with Al Kharaitiyat Street west of Al Kharaitiyat Interchange (N8) on Al Shamal Road. The closure will begin on Friday 8^th, January 2016, and will last one year.

During this period, traffic will be diverted to a temporary two-lane roundabout that was constructed at the closure location, as shown in the attached map. The speed limit will be reduced to 30 kph throughout the diversion route to reduce risks to road users and the project’s workforce. This closure is required to carry out construction works of a proposed bridge which forms part of the North Road enhancement project. Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the closure. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
