As part of its continuous efforts to develop the roads in the area surrounding Al Duhail military camp, the Public Works Authority, Ashghal, converted Leabaib Roundabout (previously known as Radar Roundabout) to a signal-controlled intersection. The intersection partially opened on Monday morning and vehicles can pass through all directions except to go west toward Al Shamal Road due to deep excavations related to the construction of sewer lines and manholes.
The remaining closed lane is expected to open within the following three months. Throughout this period, road users are required to head north make a u-turn at the next intersection to return to Leabaib Intersection and then make a right-hand turn as shown in the attached map. The project also includes converting JaryanNjeimah Roundabout, located adjacent to North Atlantic College to a signal-controlled intersection. Work on this roundabout is underway and it is expected to open to traffic in the first half of February 2016.
