The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has announced the closure of one lane on Corniche Roundabout in Al Khor City in the direction from Corniche Street to Al Amir Street and vise-versa, while one lane remains open in each direction. In addition to this the median and shoulders on all streets leading to the roundabout will also be closed.
The closure will start on Saturday 13 June 2015 for a period of two months, to enable infrastructure development works on Al Khor Commercial Street and to convert Al Khor Corniche Roundabout to a signal-controlled intersection. Ashghal will install road signs to advise motorists of the diversion. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their users. It is worth mentioning that the Roads and Infrastructure for Al Khor Commercial Street project falls under the Local Roads and Drainage programme, implemented by the Public Works Authority. The programme aims at developing the current infrastructure, as well as constructing a comprehensive modern infrastructure in all the new areas around the country, in line with the international standards.
